The Dodge Steel Company and the Tacony Iron and Metal Works

Passing by the gleaming new MAST Charter School along the easterly side of State Road, South of Magee Avenue, a newcomer to Tacony may wonder what once stood on this large waterfront parcel of land. Anyone who has lived in Tacony for 20 years or less would likely tell the newcomer that an old, abandoned factory named "Dodge or something" once stood there and that it continuously deteriorated until its demolition in October, 1994.
