The spring general membership meeting of the Historical Society of Tacony will be held on Monday, May 22, at 6:30 p.m. at Tacony Library, 6742 Torresdale Ave. Slide presentations will be given on the Disston Saw Works and inventor Frank Shuman. A small exhibit of Shuman-related memorabilia will be on display. All are invited to attend and join as a member. Light refreshments will be served. 

This is the southwest corner of Torresdale Avenue and Cottman Avenue in the mid-20th century when is was a car dealership known as Alva Chevrolet
